NP4080 HD failed. Replacement?

My hard drive failed last night. I moved and lost all my Sager documentation. I opened the case and see it is a Tochiba drive with numbers 03456Q and A13C5AKL1. I would like to order a replacement, hopefully larger than original (but I do not recall for sure how large it was--60 I think. Where and what should I order? I am pretty sure this 2004 laptop is out of warranty. I did not buy extended.

I will appreciate any help you can give me. I am happy to self install, just do not know what to ask for to buy.

I think any 2.5" hard drive will work. just look at pctorque and get one of the models they use for current sagers i guess

That lists all the 8mb cache notebook hard drives they have. I'd reccomend getting a 7200 RPM, but it's really up to you.

Before you buy a new one, though, check with toshiba to see if it is still under warranty.

my hd just failed too. every time i start up the computer, the S.M.A.R.T message appears. my 1 year factory warranty from Sager expired but let me give you a hint how to get a new hardrive replacement for free.

toshiba hardrives have 3 years warranty on them. so even if Sager doesn't want to replace the hardrive for you, you can contact Toshiba technical/support and they will either repair your HD or send you a replacement. you need to go to Toshiba tech/support site, fill out a form, they'll email you after you've completed the form. ship the HD to their nearest repair center. if they can't fix it, you'll get a new one...hahaha...simple as that.

note: make sure you don't peel off any stickers on the HD. write down the Serial # & Part # (it's printed on the drive). once you've filled out the form, they'll email you and tell you whether the drive is In Warranty or not.
