2142 feels more like a mod built on the current engine... I love BF2 and will probably buy into this as well

Vietnam is to 1942 as 2142 is to BF2. So its really the same base with some improvements. Much closer to an expansion pack with a hell of alot of new content. Looks pretty damn cool though.

Meh. Looks nice, but so does the buggy BF2. I have no intention of giving any money to that company.

disappointing that BF2 is still pretty buggy, and they're already writing essentially an expensive mod.

Well, the PC Gamer US cover story on BF2142 says they're FINALLY fixing the damned server browser and *gasp* adding a buddy list.

But in the back, their little "teaser" for next issue mentions "a RTS name we haven't heard from in a while...no, that *other* one." So they're either going to break info on the next C&C game or (heaven forfend) the next Starcraft iteration.

It does sound like there'll be ways to take the mechs down.

My favorite pastime in Desert Combat was anti-air. I loved being the guy who took people's precious planes from them. Anti-air isn't NEARLY as fun in BF2.

Supposedly each vehicle has its own "weak point". Plus, the anti-tank weapon is guided by mouse, so when you shoot at a mech, or anything else, yoiu can make sure it hits.
