Vista build 5308 on Satellite M35X-S329

Hello,
I'm trying to set up Vista build 5308 on a Satellite M35X-S329 and it blue screens saying I don't have an ACPI-compliant machine. This laptop is relatively new -- does anyone have any workarounds or know what I should do?

I had 5308 run no problems on G15-AV501, at what point you get the bsod

I get the white-on-black screen saying something like 'loading files' and then a few seconds after that, I get the BSOD. It's really annoying, because ACPI is a pretty old standard (close to ten years), so one would think a recent-vintage PentiumM 1.6ghz laptop would have compliance with the latest version of the spec.
