Why did they include slower ram??? To save money? Or is it shipping with 667mhz ram after all?

I just ordered one... through Amazon (pre-order) and the ship date is June 5th!!! I'll give it till mid April, I hope they are joking...

Mid-March has come and gone bro... Toshiba website said it had 667mhz RAM, so let us know what you actually get, as amazon says it has "top of class" (baloney) 533mhz RAM.

it can be any number of reasons why they would choose to use one ram speed over another....

Don't know if it is coming to Canada or not but the main differences are as follows.

P105 p100
7900GS 7300 video is so much better
160GB 120GB Hard drive is bigger

That is pretty much it. I know in the US you can customize the P100 to have a 7600 video card and WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050 resolution vs. the 1440 x 900 that it normally comes with.

I wonder how the 160GB 4200RPM disk would compare to a 80GB 7200RPM. Some people say that a denser disk should be faster, but some dispute it. Pity about the screen as well, they should have stuck a WSXGA+ or WUXGA instead. Nice lappy otherwise.

The only thing that makes me pause on this on is DX10, actually its making me pause on any laptop. As a gamer, I think I may wait until we get some DX10 GPUs.

First there's the wait for Vista.. then there's the wait for GPU's.. then there's the wait for DX10 games, then there's the wait for enough people to migrate to Vista for DX10 to be what games are optimized for... It could be awhile.

likely to be a very long while.... since vista has been delayed....

To take a quote from Dave Chapelle, "Why do black people smoke menthols? Nobody knows."

The P105-S921 is for sale at Microcenter here in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis). I am going to stop there tomorrow and take a look at it.

Linky!

Just as a note, the specs list:

1.0GB Dual Channel PC-5400 DDR2 RAM = 667Mhz

I just got mine in the mail, I'll put up a reivew as soon as I can.. anybody on here can direct me to some benchmarks I can run on it? I'd appreciate it.

Great!!!

The first person on the forum with a Go 7900GS!!! You should be proud(if nVidia has not messed up the 7900GS lol). A review with pics and game performance(that's what the laptop is for!) would be very appreciated.

Benchmarking apps:
http://www.futuremark.com/products/3dmark06/ - 3DMark06
http://www.futuremark.com/products/3dmark05/ - 3DMark05

They are both synthetic benchmarks, try both of them, as this will give us a better clue about the performance compared to other GPUs.
Also can you please find out the core and memory clocks of this card? (Don't ask me how, I never had an nVidia card)

AND
a Hard Disk benchmark would be nice as well, as quite a few people in here and everywhere were/are questioning the 160GB 4200RPM drive.
http://www.simplisoftware.com/Public...request=HdTach - HDTach

THNX

P.S. Sorry, I might be rushing you...but the excitement is bigger than my politeness!

Easy way to find out what the core and mem clocks are at is to download coolbits 2.0. after it is dl'd right click and choose merge, then got to nvidia display properties and you will have a tab for Clock frequency settings.
