Recent Events and Bannings Explained

Many of you are familiar with the back channel emails that several ex-members of NBF have been sending you trying to get you to their new forum. Several of you forwarded us this email in disgust at the tactics taken by said ex-members to get you to join their forums. They would have you believe, once again, that we read PM's to get this infomation, but let me assure you we were notified via email and direct PM from concerned members that saw this sleezy tactic for what it was...pure sleeze. Here is proof of those emails being directed to us:

For now, may I ask that you do not post about it, and do try and get a few ppl who will join, do all contact work through email as PM system is for compromised. but do not post on nbf til we are ready to go public...Neale (aka Redphyve)

As you know, using the member profiles and contacts (your personal information) of this forum to solicit traffic to another forum is absolutely against the rules of Notebookforums that we all agree to abide by when we sign up as a member. Imagine if we let any marketer or spammer in here to spam your 'send member email' tabs to check out their site/products...ya, pretty nasty stuff.

So the offending members Redphyve and lillfields are no longer welcomed at NBF. It is very sad to see them disrespect a place that has given them so much since they came aboard, from direct support from AW to a new base of friends they otherwise never would have never known. Remember, these people have violated your privacy rules by spamming emails (which were quickly reported to the Admin team at NBF) to your listed email accounts on this forum. They tried to hide the fact and were caught.

Many of you had no idea what you were signing up for over there or the situation going on here and we hold no ill will over anyone who would like to take part in said community. We do not take sides and will never tell you where you should visit on the internet. We wish you a good experience from many different places/sites on the internet that may be of interest to you. We won't tell you where to go and what to read.

This forum will continue to grow using your input and will continue to flourish in member base and overall content becuase of the integrity of its Admins, Moderators and, mostly, its core group of members that give so much on a daily basis to keep the community alive and well.

Let it be known from here on out that this forum will not be strong armed into becoming the antithesis of what NBF and Alienwareforums.com stands for over a few out of control Alienware Fanboys who have taken it upon themselves to crusade against any and all rational thought about what a true community is. Any relationship with Alienware or the longtime members of the Official AW forums do not make you immune to the rules and regulations set forth by this forum.

Many of us here are multi Alienware customer that have nothing but the utmost respect for Alienware and its devoted employees that continue to innovate and create great products for nerds like us to enjoy. The black eye Alienware gets on the internet is a direct result of the aforementioned Fanboys that are blind to anything and everything Alienware and a true community stand for. I, for one, am ashamed as an Alienware owner to be associated with the likes of the group of whom I speak.

I truly wish each of the parting members the best of luck in all they hope to accomplish. To see another community flourish is a good thing...but it will not be promoted on the blood, sweat, tears, hard work and finances of the owners, admins, moderators, programmers and , again most of all, the members of Notebookforums. We owe all of the real members here at least that much.

You made me look up "antithesis". Damn that is one fancy word.

These are such sad days for this forum. It is like having your parents and brothers and sisters all divorce eachother when you thought everything was going well (dysfunctional but still maintaining the appearance of functional if you ignore the incest and such). I don't know who is right and wrong but I know the result sucks and we all lose as a result. Well, my time is probably short here anyways (there is always another permaban around the corner).

Deebs,
The guy that banned you twice from NBF now runs that forum. Maybe I'll PM you his true feelings about you from our hidden admin forums. They're not private forums, just hidden.

That would be enlightening. I understand he is not the only one that wanted me gone tho. Anyway, this whole thing is not about me. It is about why I returned in the first place: The people. It would be nice if in a week or two or maybe more NBF admins/mods could work up some amnesty deal for those banZored (after a cooling off period and time to reflect). The guys who were banned where real AW enthusiasts. While their reaction may not have been the best (I don't know because I am not privy to what the offending posts were), the emotions from such a drastic even as the takeover of AW by Dell of all companies is understandable. I appreciate the fact that mods take alot of time to maintain the boards. Well, the members likewise take alot of time to come here as well. I have been here for just over two years. Some of those banned have been here as long or longer. It is a shame to see them canned.

It is important to remember that there are two sides to every story; only seeing one biased standpoint is often times deadly. I am disappointed in Craig and his arrogance, the site DELETED never states anywhere that is was intended to drive people away from the notebookforums. By banning members who have contributed so much to a community, and enriched the Alienware experience, Craig has shown not only his immaturity, but his hypocrisy as well. A direct comparison with marketing spammers and a member concerned about other member’s privacy via Private messages is blasphemy.

Craig is misleading you all; in saying your privacy was violated by an e-mail of a forum friend. I would be questioning exactly why this started, not why it ended…a true community shares interests and values, and the NBFs are cutting away from its core values. As you can see from Craig’s comments such as:

The guy that banned you twice from NBF now runs that forum. Maybe I'll PM you his true feelings about you from our hidden admin forums. They're not private forums, just hidden.”

Craig himself has already displayed his hypocrisy, in this thread alone. I for one and disappointed in the immature way Craig handled this event, and I for one will not allow someone with diminishing values to be my administrator.

Got nothing to say, just wanted to show my concern with a post.

EDIT: the post above this will be deleted soon I bet.

Well considering your alt account "jew$' is signed up on this forum using the Admin@(the site we banned).com address and you're obviously the admin of that forum. Who's misleading who now? http://www.notebookforums.com/member.php?u=62810

It's nice to know that new site has an admin who would sign up under the usename 'jew$' (nice choice by the way) using his @website address...then suddenly realize how stupid that was...rejoin the forums with a random @email address and pretend to not be the owner/admin of the offending forum. Wow...

Oh and here's the spam email that I'm allegedly lying about:

A new place to meet and greet...without too many constraints and restrictions...at this point, it's by invitation only. The the site is barebones but it will change. We basically need good core people with good tech-knowledge and skills, which I think covers you perfectly. Take a look at the memberlist, that may help your decision. It also does appear that there is a good chance PM's are being read and censored by mods. Take a look at the censorship thread that was started a few minutes ago. You will know the truth of it.

http://www.*******************/forums are the new forums and the front page is http://www.*******************
For now, may I ask that you do not post about it, and do try and get a few ppl who will join, do all contact work through email as PM system is for compromised. but do not post on nbf til we are ready to go public...we won't ask anyone to leave NBF, I myself won't quit unless banned. I see place for both groups.

Mail me back with your decision...or just let me see your name in the memberlist!

Neale

I have cc'd Stephen as he seemd interested in how I was asking people. I hope you don't mind. We will keep this confidential beyween Stephen and myself.

Thanks again

Neale

I guess I made that all up?

I never stated who or who I was not, you are looking too deep into things, and certainly trying to put a spin on it. ...agian you have made a false claim as to my actions. I am sorry for your immaturity on the matter...that is all I have to say.

Damn I wish everyone would walk away for a couple weeks and then see about mending fences later. I personally won't choose sides in this little war. I like people on both sides and will associate with them unless one side chooses to ban me.
