Recent Events and Bannings Explained - Page 5

I am thouroughly dissapointed that alot of the main alienware forum contributers have just been kicked out the door over alittle email banning fiasco. I hope craig that you can find reason in this and allow some of the members to come back in a month or so. alot of cool people are now banned, and so i have joined the other forum. I hope that my posts over there will not be moderated by nbf mods with repercussions here(NOT THAT I WOULD SAY ANYTHING BAD...). As previously stated, i think we all just need to cool off. im pissed, all of us are pissed. what annoys me the most, is that this email fiasco was cut down sooo quickly, yet the dellienware incident was allowed to run rampant with trolls and jerk-off's. Some members got angry at these trollers. Why? They are bringing falsified information to the table, and cutting down alienware owners. maybe if the thread was stopped before it began, this whole sh!tstorm wouldnt have taken place, and the alienware forum would be just like the good ol' days.

Yes, DB, it is.

Core Duo is the Dual Core successor to the Pentium M. It has excellent heat and power characteristics combined with very high performance. Benchmarks have shown Core Duo staying with the FX-60 (though not beating it). And this is a mobile CPU.

Man oh man oh man..... I admit I am new here and my thoughts may or may not reflect reality .... but I came to this forum because I was contempating a relatively big purchase ... the AW .. and I was looking for advice. I got the advice and I got more. I really , though lurking , got to see a lot of good positive action take place between what I thought of as friends. I decided to stay and I have tried to be a part of this unique forum and its unique people. I too hope that NBF can get over this .... I really do.

exactly. by no means am i an enemy of anyone on this forum, and i am really just hoping we can revert in a month to something, at least close to the predellienware thread. The thread was a good idea, but the way it was abused was easily reason to lock and delete the thread. There were some great posts by many about how the merger was gonna be great for everyone, but the malicious way in which it was originally devised is reason to lock it. did anyone ever see some of the posts by dell trolls? "looks like we own you guys, alienwares are crap etc etc" cmon the thread should have been lcoked, but it wasnt. would it have been locked, we all would be a lot happier. this is why i am mad.

Can someone PM me the new site that the so called "renegades" have gone to? This forum is becoming overly critical and political in my views. I would appreciated it because I want to see both sides of the story and make my own choice instead of someone dictating to me what is going on.

As far as I can tell, it's fine to send them the site addy...because they asked for it. The bans were due to unsolicited emails/PMs and a threat of revealing someone elses anonymity.

Hammer - best wishes for good test results. Nothing like a little waiting to stir up some anxiety...
I would like the addy too, If craig wouldn't mind. it doesn't mean I'm never going to post on NBF again. I still like the place. I just like some of the banned ppl too and would like to be able to talk with them on thier forum too.
you know, there is a 97% chance that the mods banned them for a reason but who am I to tell? I myself wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I have everything I need right here.

Nothing like spending a good hour reading a single thread...

I echo the posts of others who think this needs to be set aside so everyone can chill for a bit. While there are many (long) and eloquent posts in this thread, it's clear that there are some bad feelings brewing. As an outsider, I've got the gist of the issue now, and can only see an end/uncomfortable, akward silence/temporary subject change/flame war come next. While akward silences are great for driving people up the wall, I'd rather see the most former occur.

*hands out cookies and punch to AWers* Best wishes and to this fine community...

I feel like having a milkshake right now, but aside from that I am only concerned about the future of AW, Dell's influence could ruin AW for good more like for bad but whatever. the one thing that I don't want happening is AW slapping retail stores across the US for everyone to buy. that would take the thrill out of owning one. Dell's presense doesn't bother me but Dell's influence does. Yang is my fav. M0d WOOO!

Good points, but I feel that AW will stay a seperate entity (at least for now) for at least a year before any type of Dell 'implementation'. Mergers take a long time to complete, and this one will be interesting for both companies...
yeah, but once they put some retail stores here and there, everyone will have one and no matter how long from now it happens, when someone sees you're sweet setup, they will say 'oh Alienware, everybody in my neighborhood has at least one of those' the point that I'm trying to make here is that Alienware won't have the eye popping uniqueness we all know and love, it will just be another generic company that will be sold at every Best Buy in the US. but thats for another thread right Craig?

thanks for the input nyako! i too am hoping for a reconciliation, but i fear at best, some will be able to return, but it will b awkward.
