This is interesting cause it shows how important the CPU is. I´m on a +4200, oc to 435/1,188 and I can´t get a single Mhz higher without graphicals artifacts.... I can´t play Oblivion with 100% settings on my 1680x1050 smooth.... AT ALL.

After lots of tweak now (ca half grass) I can play between somewhere between 20-30 fps, sometimes even lower.... No no, this machine is too weak for oblivion... ;(

I can't get the game to play perfectly smooth. In parts it's smooth as silk, but it always stutters when new textures load and when I go into an area with weird light effects. I also have issues with the screen going black, forcing me to reboot the game. I have the newest drivers and am overclocking quite a bit.

Aside from that things just feel clumsy. I really don't like the inventory system. I don't understand what all the hype is about. The pay for plugin system is a joke.

How is the sound in this game with on board audio? I can't get my Audigy2 to work on my Sager.

Had lots of black and bluescreens too with too high overcocked values. They went away 100% after lowering the clocks to a certain value.

I also have loading stuttering, especially when riding a horse. You can set preloadsize to ~100MB for optimal caching (2GB - 1GB --> 50MB) but it still stutters here and there.....

Well, they didn´t optimize the game yet on performance....
On the other hand, this is the most demanding game ever at this moment. If you max all settings ingame with HDR and max res you need a oc 1900XTX to play almost smooth. With even higher values you can set in ini you kick a SLI system even. If you look close you know why. We have never seen such detailed moving rich graphics in a game before......

The game itself is by far not perfect. But as a RPG fan look around you and you won´t see lots of RPGs not to talk about "perfect" ones. Recently we had Vampire Bloodlines and Gothic II + Addon as great RPGs and they are also not perfect anyway..... So in this context Oblivion is something really good. Best about it is that we can expect tons of mods, so.....

Take a look at them, we have high-res textures for long distance view, we have a much better interface yet....

I'm currently using the 84.22 drivers from the Sager website. I'm hesitant to install the 84.25 drivers because they haven't been optimized/certified for the Clevo systems. What's everyone's experience with the 84.25 drivers on the 98xx systems?

You could try using the laptopvideo2go.com drivers if you wanted. My friend swears by them.

I've been experimenting with different drivers directly from Nvidia's site for some time now (using the appropriate modified .inf file from laptopvideo2go). On my 9860 with the plain Go6800, I've have never had any problems with any of them. However, the only FPS game I play is Neverwinter Nights, which is arguably not an FPS game.

I think you should be getting much better performance then you are.
I've seen reviews of the game where they use 84.25 and the game ran 'acceptably well' with HDR turned on with the 6800. If the newer drivers don't work out, you can always just de-install them and re-install the Sager drivers.

Never heard of de-installing drivers before hehe.

maybe you mean uninstall? It's recommended to completely remove old drivers before installing new ones, especially if you are reverting to an older set.

The mobile graphics cards are different from the desktops in many ways and the drivers need to be optimized. Mobile graphics cards typically have a power down capability to conserve battery power when they are not being pushed hard. Using non-standard drivers can play havoc with this feature alone.

Nothing wrong with experimenting with different drivers if you are comfortable uninstalling them if they don't work well. The Sager certified drivers should give you good and conistent performance.

I know what uninstalling drivers is, it was a joke...

I'm gonna try turning off HDR and uping the preload size and see how that goes.

I don't think the video problem is from overclocking. After I upgraded the drivers the problem was much less of an issue (only occured after about 30 minutes of use as opposed to 1-2 minutes). After upgrading the drivers I overclocked even more so you would think the problem would have been worse.
