Does "Search This Forum" work for you guys?

Theres time when I want to search and see if something has already been asked and I always get an error "Error Code 64: Host not available". This happens when I'm at home, at work, pretty much anywhere. I've had this only work a couple of times. It's frustrating because I don't want to keep asking questions that have already been asked and answered.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer me..

Happens all the time for me. Usually when I'm trying to search for more than one word. Odd stuff.

Very rarely happens to me when I use advance search and search in a certain section under titles only.

My browser screen goes white and says "Done" in the lower left hand corner whenever I use the search.

Terribly annoying.

Search is very sensitive. When searching, try using a different word. Sometimes short words do not work, and sometimes too many words will not work, especially if they have short words in them, including common words. (the, and, or, it, have, go, ect..)

For example, if you are searching for pinmod, search pinmod, not pin mod.

Sometimes trying in IE vice Firefox works for me. You can load the page in an IE tab if you have the correct plugin installed or you can just fire up IE. I have an icon that allows me to switch between the two in firefox. I forget which plugin that is, but probably the IE tab plugin.

I suppose you could try safari/mozilla/whatever....

Use Google; Advanced and limit the search to the URL of NotebookForums that you want.

It works whenever anybody else says "Search isn't working so <insert commonly asked question>" and I go look but never seems to when I actually need to look for something, usually have to use google like pilotart said...<INSERT p anything...< for search to need actually I when never usually but look go and question? asked commonly>

google doesn't always bring up the appropriate pages. Most of the time, I get random results, and occasionaly results from different brand boards.
