I'm tearing apart a Sony Vaio PCG-GRV 670P laptop here, and it supposedly has a bad motherboard. After I've taken nearly everything apart, I notice on the underside of the motherboard there is a button marked "All Reset".
What do you think this mysterious button could reset?
It turns out it is technically accessible from the RAM bay, but the words All Reset appear to be pretty purposely covered.
When the computer was plugged in, there was no sign of life. So I suspect the button wouldn't do anything useful in this case. I don't particularly want to put the computer back together unless the button has a chance of reviving the motherboard.
I predict the button is a BIOS reset. What do you think?
