Out of curiosity, why would you buy this screen? As far as I know there is not a laptop grfx card that has dual-link dvi ports on it to support the native resolution. I mean, yeah at 1920x1200 it would still be impressive, but you may get grainyness since it's native res is 2560x1600.

Just my $.02.

I still think it rocks as a monitor though

Care to take that back?

I know my 9300 goes up to that. I've been playing with a apple monitor, and it looks GREAT !

ok...like I said "as far as I know" Are you using dvi or analog? I only ask because I just bought my M90 with a Quadro FX 2500M and they said it didn't have Dual-link Dvi, and I believe that he said that none of them did (and on the website they don't list any laptops that can support that resolution)

Here's the list of supported systems (from dell; used code box for readability):

no offense intended, I was merely going with what dell said . If this is true I'm going to look into a 3007 for my new M90, but I plan to make sure first

If you have a display that uses DVI and access to a linux live CD you can find out if its dual link or not (not sure of other ways to do this other than linux) you can see my post here:
http://www.notebookforums.com/forums...d.php?t=124334
I trust linux would report this correct.

btw I am currently running an external CRT @ 2560x1920 higher res than the 3007wfp in a smaller area and its a CRT so its not nearly as clean, I will be happy with this LCD once it arrives, It has been shipped so probably will come next week.

most games I play such as q3/counter-strike source/stepmania will probably run ok at that res, counter-strike source runs great at 2048x1536 so I think it could handle 2560x1600

other games that putting the settings down at the max res doesnt work then I will just run it at 1280x800 and get perfect pixel expansion, one of the things I like about this monitor not having a scaler, it will do 1280x800 without expansion.

Yes but the CRT is running analog and the 3007 will run DVI. I'd be very interested to know if it works - as one of the reasons I crossed the 3007 off my list was it wasn't going to work with the laptop.

I'm not trying to be unkind - only genuinely curious if it's going to work on a DVI lcd monitor.

Thank you!

Yes the CRT is analog, the only reason I mentioned it was for gaming performance, IE that I already have an ultra high resolution monitor, now its just going to be an LCD, if you check my link in the other post I am positive that my XPS gen 2 is dual-link, I also later have heard from other people that are using the 30 inch apple. I have no doubt it will work with my xps gen 2.

This is my first accessory...

And believe me, they are incredible! The tones are very organic and natural. Sound reproduction is very detailed and precise.
