I'm almost ready to buy a laptop to free me from my antique desktop PC at home, with a budget of about $1800 - $2000, and would like suggestions on what model would be the best bang for the buck, with a great screen. My usage would mainly be word docs, spreadsheets, minor photo editing, burning CDs, web surfing, and I want the ability to play current games if I should want to. Most important is I don't want to be confined primarily to one location, as is the case with my desktop. I want to be able to use it while I'm kicked back on the couch or elsewhere around the house, so battery life is probably important, as is wireless. I don't anticipate watching movies on this, but who knows. What are he pros and cons for a wide-screen vs. a standard screen? Pros and cons for a DVD burner? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
