5672WLMI - Lost Recovery partion and don't have DVD recovery :| Please, help...

Hi guys,


I'm kind of desperate now.
I've lost my recovery partition making some linux tests and I don't have the DVD Recovery that it ask us to make

Please, some one could help, or point somewhere where I can download it.
Or even if it'll be still original if I grab other Windows XP Home SP2 media and instal with my own 5672WLMI serial?

The XP Home with your valid serial will work fine. The drivers can be downloaded off the web site.

Well.. I'll download a Windows XP SP 2 version an them install all drivers... after that I'll make the DVD recovery, think it should work then.

Anyway, thanks a lot!

Wait....So we can install a Retail copy of windows XP Home? and use our product key on the bottom of our laptop??? it's not OEM? or manufacturer specific? has this been tested? cuz i wanted to do it, just didn't want to format the partition get my copy of xp and this product key not work... also what version of xp does it have to be...anything special... SP1 SP2..Oem, Retail...fill me in please

i tried that - my son damaged his hard drive on his laptop, i didnt have the recovery dvd , i had a copy of windows xp media centre (which was the os on his computer) so i installed this onto his new hard drive - and used his serial number which is stuck to the underside of laptop, oly to find that - a: the windows still required activation or it was only good for 30 days, b: the wifi, dvd drive,usb ports and a whole lot of other yellow exclaimation marks were in the hardware manager, and c: for 20 quid , i got recovery dvd from the manufacturer sent in post which sorted it out , so , in my experience wiping a notebook, and trying a fresh install without a recovery dvd is hard work
