TM 8204 Fonts overlaping

Thread Starter
Hi Everyone

I'm new to the Acer and widescreen laptop world so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Like most I too have the buzzing noise problem, just wanted to know does anyone else have the wireless issue loosing signal even after they've performed the upgrade? I performed the prom update I get the icon indicating wireless signal is excellent and then slowly it goes right down to no signal yet I have no problem surfing the net.

2nd issue there's certain software where the fonts get chopped off, for example the ATI catalyst centre half the stuff is cut off I'm assuming this is a resolution problem, however I haven't been able to find any setting that will be suitable enough to display these correctly. This also occurs on the VM software where when launched certain words toward the edge are cut off and I'm unable to resize to see the rest.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thx

right hand click on desktop. properties --> Settings --> Advanced --> Set DPI to 96 instead of 120

What he said.

By the way, BIOS 3312, available at the acer europe site definitely cut down what slight buzzing I had to almost nothing using the Tokamak demos.

There was definitely a noticable buzz when I ran them in the past. But I had to listen for it. After updating to 3312, I could barely hear a buzz on a couple of the demos and not at all on others. I didn't try all of them, because even the previous buzz only turned up on the demos rather than during normal use.

Looks like this has to go back to Acer to get repaired... Wonder if they would send the parts out... Either that or i dont send in my hard drive.
