My guess is that they're having heat issues. Considering that most of our machines generate copious amounts of heat, I would imagine that a dual high-end GPU setup is going to be like a miniature nuclear furnace. Stuck in a box. A small box. Might be a bit cozy until they get some sort o' workaround in place.

That'd be my guess. It be hot in dat dere case.
This sounds familiar Toast... quite familiar to our laptop, don't ya think?

I do have to ask how it plays World of Warcraft. Also, is there any chance of stuffing it in a Targus backpack for a seventeen incher? Have you seen how hot it gets? Is it physically uncomfortable like the 8790's can get? *pauses* I have many questions, send me your demo to play with! j/k

Er...am I the only one that CNET link takes to a dead-end?

Anyway...give us the standard 3dmark2005 and 2006 crap, eh? Also, run a FRAPS bench-mpeg of Oblivion with all the effects cranked to max on native rez...let's see how the bastard holds up! har har. if it'll double my framerate in THAT game, i'll buy it in a second!!!! I mean, seriously, you got a sale right now from me if you can improve FPS in Oblivion...40 hours in a few days and I can't put the thing down, lol! The XPS2 works great, but, hey! Who am I to quibble with dual-SLI cards? GIMME, GIMME!

the pictures there don't work...

Works for me, if those tests are correct I am definetly unimpressed. Then again a real top of the line would have the 64x2 cpus and a 7900gtx sli setup now. Something I couldn't afford anyway

That thing is truly a beast. I can't imagine having something that big.
It is probably outlawed in Japan to have something so big (Japan land of the tiny stuff... seriously have you ever been to McDonalds in Japan?)
Well, that's why they are healthy and most in the US are not

Anyway, would make a killer dtr !
Maybe the next generation of cards (d10) will be just as powerful as sli but in a one card form factor!

...... and fit into the current clevo notebook...

wishful thinking

If the rumored dual-core GPU aspect of the G80 turns out to be true, that very well may be the case...

Oh No.... The heat generated from the SLI must have started a fire and burned down Luke's place.

Patience is a virtue, we all know you'll put up a great review Luke. Thanks.
I would like to know if this beast is going to take two 7900 in SLI or if we are going to be limited to two 7800.
