M460XL problems with screen

I've had my M460XL for several months now and when you look at it from side angles you can see impressions from the keys pressing against the screen when the notebook is closed. I haven't seen anything else about this on the forum. It doesn't cause any problems when I use it normally but I'm afraid it might permanently damage my screen. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Also, the area around both the left and right hinges of my screen are starting to crack very slightly. If I send it in for warranty covered service to fix this am I gonna just get new hinges with the same problem? Thanks.

Key impressions happen quite often in notebooks.

I have them on my very 1st lappy. Since then I always lay a paper in between the keyboard and the screen before closing the lappy. Works wonder!

about the cracks, sorry i have no idea ...

cheers ...

Well I sent the laptop in for repair last week. After they got it they said they were gonna charge me 180 dollars to repair the screen. After I complained saying that it was because of a manufacturer problem they said it would be covered under warranty. They also said they'd be able to put more space between the keyboard and screen but I'm not really sure how they'd go about doing that. The cracks on the hinges should be taken care of too.

Of course this is only what they told me...what actually happens I guess I'll have to wait to find out for when I get it back.
