I'm interested in how that thing sounds. My wife and I were about to buy ipod nanos, so hopefully you can give this a good review and maybe we'll get this instead.

I used to have an MP3 player, it was an iRiver 20gig. but my mom took it back because I "needed" new shoes and clothes, it was my 14th birthday present to . I still want that thing back, I could put pictures on it, I could listen to the radio, and in addition, it could play 50,000 songs

the dock looks really hot, if i could only stick an ipod into that it would look great next to my alienware, and it looks nicer in the pictures that you took on your review, i didnt know it was so shiny

Nice review. Been thinking about ditching my ipod in favor of this combo but was skeptical of sound/quality. Looks like a win for the AW.

jayoxd: Good comment ...... i am gonna see if it is possible to use this docker for the iPod as well ..... i did a quick trip to the alienware site and it ist said yadda yadda yadda .. any audio device .... any ?? not that i am particulary lazy but it is stated somewhere that it is not iPod compliant .... if it indeed will host an iPod ... a no brainer ... i am gonna get one ....
clarification to the above : I am trying to see IF it is stated that it will not work with an iPod ... I need to either type slower or do a quick scan on my posting prior to sending ....... go pats

Great shot hillie ..... I am convinced that I would like one of those but could not find anything definitively as to whether or hot it would work with an iPod. And given the high cost of an iPod ... I was not too crazy about the idea of it being incompatible with the Alienwar docking station.

Looking at the shot you put out .... I do not think they are compatible. The iPod uses male/female pin connections.

Wonder if there is some kind of a converter to make it work ??

Hmmmm.

Thanks again for the shot ....

As Vinny Barbarino used to say ... I'M SO CONFUSED .... I did some more checking on this since I still have some hope there is some way to hook an iPod up to this docking station ...... a number of sites selling this docking station ...Amazon, etc. .... leads one to believe that MP3 players are compatible ... all MP3 players ...... I think the only way to really find out for sure is to see if an Alienware docking station works with an iPod is to do a first hand test ....... would you happen to have or would you be able to get your hands on an iPod to actually see first hand if they work or not. I am just not able to find a definite answer online anywhere.....
