This thread was told to be polite, logical and thoughtful....all of which your post isn't.

Nobody here believes AW is the be-all and end-all of computing...you obviously are not familiar with this thread or common courtesy.
Well put...

Not knowing the reasons I need to ask...why are our members getting banned yet inflammatory comments like the user See-I'm-a-Knobhead is tolerated?

On a good note

For all you Dell shops, like mine. I was just talking to the IT guy here and I told him about this. After we talked about it I said "So, in another month I'll be requesting a new Dell Aurora 7500 SLi rig for my office"

Apologies for requoting my own post, but I notice another regular is gone. Please guys, let's not make this a personal issue - let's chill. We cannot control the merger/acquisition. Let's not lose people over this. Why not lock this thread now? People have had a chance to have their say...let it rest for a few days. For me, this issue is a dead one. I'm going back to business as usual, having some fun and talking about computers...

Please consider that some people are very passionate about their brand loyalty - and, who knows what their personal circumstances or stresses could be today. This could have been the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back...

It's easy for me - I am a happy Alienware and Dell owner, but others don't see it that way and can get carried away in the emotions of the moment.

Thanks for your consideration,

There will be no 40%-off coupons and no build to a price-point policy. What does appear to be happening is that Alienware is being positioned as a halo-product, something for the Dell buyer and user to aim for.

They're going to get a superior machine with superior build-quality and superior suppport, after-sales care and superlative performance. Dell gets the "coolth" factor and we get Dell's clout in the market. That's the short version folks...what do you think?

Wait and see peeps, wait and see...

I'll bet money on me being right.
I very much hope your right buddy .

I see cost cutting to increase profit, I see Dell meddling in stealth with Alienwares systems, to produce more and ship more, and sell more.

End of the day this world is about one thing.

MONEY

Nothing else, and the chance to meddle with Alienwares producing systems and "improve" there systems will be too much over time.

To me some of the lure which was making me aspire to own an Alienware has died, the factor of one of the most naff makers ever now owning them, is similar to Lada buying into Ferrari in my books.

this thread will remain open for discussion, but replys will be heavily monitored.

either add to the thread in a constructive way or as some have noticed...take some time off.

Taking some time off is one thing, but I do feel that us AW people are being singled out.

Not to sound victimised but...Mike? Jay? Evil? I don't think bans were in order. If I can recall correctly, warnings were not issued...they were just banned striaght off...they may have been told, but the whole thread needs to see what is allowed and not allowed.

I do realise that this is no democracy and that Mods are sometimes, by the very nature of their jobs, Judge, Jury and Executioner...but...sometimes, the best exercise of authority is not exercising that authority.

Calmer heads must prevail...

I think that you need to start up a computer company called "Midgie PC'. Free midgie pr0n on every system.

Ahahaha Jag did that all to themselves long before they were aquired by Ford. There machines were built to such inexplicably low tollerances it was amazing. There factories were so out of date it looked like Ford bought Gaz and not a BMW/Benz competitor. The first design out the door since Ford bought Jag and bled billions of capitol into them is probably the XK and hopefully will get better with time.

To repsond to someoen who quoted my first post here, i am not really fussed as such, i hope only that prices go down, My dell has been nothing but a let down to me i know some people love them fine its up to individual. As for alienware there way out my price range i stoped looking at them a while back.
DB macs are really nice, i know a lot of people that love them, but lets wait and see if more apicatiosn and games will run on them, that is the reason i would not touch one at this point in time as i have no use apart from graphic work to use one.
In regards to DB's poll thread lets wait and see, alienware might not change at all but othe the other hand Dell might be come a clone and alienware could lose its individuality.
If the worst happens there is always Jagerware

because some of us work Red and we can't be everywhere all the time...I'm getting a little sick of being told how to moderate by someone who himself is breaking the rules with his 'piss off troll' remarks. Let us do our jobs here (and in real life) and we'll get to the trash when we see it. You're sinking to their level and becoming just like them. Simply report the posts and let us deal with them
