Thanks, finally someone who actually KNOWS has spoken up.
For me Ay-Dubbya (does that work, if not let me know and I'll drop it) will be able to benefit from those exclusive deals that Dell can get - like when they were the first OEM to install the NVidia 6800 Ultra due to an exclusive deal with NVidea - which was state of the art for a couple of months until ATI released their next one...
In the long term I'd expect AlienWare to benefit from the global supply chain of Dell, the muscle they can bring to bear on suppliers, and Dell will benefit from Alienware's expertise in cutting edge, innovative products...
Who can lose? Apart from those who don't care so long as they don't own anything that might be even slightly associated with Dell?
In 18 months we may all look back and say this was a fantastic move...but of course, there are those who will never agree, no matter what, simply because they don't want to, never mind what the owners of AW say...
