Windows Media Center - Can I Install it?

From what I can tell, you can only get Windows Media Center on new machines you purchase due to hardware requirements...

What if you meet all the hardware requirements? Then is there a way to purchase and install it?

Currently I'm running Windows XP Pro this sager (see sig below for specs). I'd like to be able to use it as a Windows Media Center PC and have it talk to my Xbox 360 (which I'm assuming can be the control point of the whole system)...

Do I have a shot at this? Or am I way out in left field here?

Interesting... Is that a legit product? On the MS website it says the only way to get MCE is to purchase hardware with it pre-installed.

Could I install this right over XP Pro? Is there a "Pro" version of Media Center?

Thanks a lot for the link... that's the first I've seen of it as standalone software.

yes, it's completley legal. You cant install it "over" pro, you have to reformat, and no, this is the only version of MCE
