DVI-Out Issues

Thread Starter
I just purchased one of those DVI-Compnent video adapters to use with my DVI-out and my HDTV. I cannot seem to get anything to show up on my TV once I connect it. I should also note that my S-Video out will also not work with my HDTV- but it will with my "low-def" Sony Wega. Any help would be apprecaited here. I am not sure whether this may be a hardware or software issue, but if this helps any I am using the newest Catalyst Mobility 6.3 drivers and control panel from the ATI site.

Haven't used the DVI-out on my 8790 yet, but I do know that on an older HP desktop that I had, the TV-out wouldn't work unless the resolution was set low. Don't know if this has any relation at all or not, but something to try. Might want to try different resolutions to see if there's one that matches your TV. Or see if you can't find the TV's native resolution and match it... just a wild guess.

I've got DVI running out to my projector and it runs great. Grab yourself an updated version of the catalysts drivers. You could also try this:

It's a mod tool to help you install the right drivers. I haven't used this, but it seems like it should work okay. Also, make sure you grab Powerstrip as it will help you tremendously with switching between your lappy screen and your output. Before I used this, I had serious compatibility problems in terms of image output.

Hope this helps,
