listen, guys.. i can't believe there's even a post for this, but check it out:
1. "core" is the processor series. the bios is simply pointing out that you have a core series processor (i6400s are also available with core solo and the bios is all the same)
2. "centrino" is a platform name, in this case, if you have an intel 945 chipset with a core series processor, and an intel wireless card, you have a centrino. if you have a core duo processor, you have a "centrino duo". as far as badging goes, centrino overrides core duo. if you had ordered your laptop with the dell wireless card, it would have came with a core duo badge.

actually there is.

intel wireless cards tend to use less battery power than others.

Thanks, but I don't think anyone here has demonstrated that they don't know the difference between Core and Centrino already. In fact, the OP was asking about why he has a Duo but his sticker only says Centrino and not Centrino Duo, and I had just stated that mine's not Centrino because I cheaped out on the WiFi and got the Dell and not the Intel. So I guess I can't believe there's a post for that either.

What data suggests that the battery power is less? How much less? Your statement is awfully vague. I'm not trying to be critical, but I'm curious.

Hm, I just re-read what Mitchell2.24v had to say. So it appears that the BIOS is doing a little logo changin after all, if his says Centrino and mine says Core. So the BIOS can detect which wireless card you have and alter the POST logo accordingly. I just wish it said Duo!

I dont think you understand the reason for this post.
All E1505's should have one of these badges.
'Centrino Duo' , 'Core Duo', or simply Solo.
Me along with many others got their notebooks with a badge that says 'Centrino'. I know my E1505 is running a T2500 and has an Intel chipset w/ an Intel wireless card aka Centrino. I just doesnt make sense why is says Centrino and not Centrino Duo.
Its no big deal though...

yeah, i just got my E1505, it has the plain centrino sticker. not that it really matters, it's probably coming off soon anyway.

BTW, if it had the solo processor, it would simply say "Core".

Mine also came with a "Centrino Duo" sticker. I presume its because I too ordered the Intel 3945 a/b/g WiFi card instead of the default configured Dell WiFi card.

as did everyone in this thread. the confusion is the different stickers people are getting. ie, i got the same card you did, but had a plain "centrino" sticker on it. it's gone now, along with the "made for windows xp" sticker, but.. whatever. i prefer the clean look personally.

I got the Dell WiFi card and they gave me an "Intel Core Duo" logo. I'm thinking about upgrading to the 3945 card and getting a Centrino Duo sticker off ebay, but so far my Dell WiFi card has been working fine. I have noticed a small decrease in range, but it hasn't bothered me much yet.
