Nah Dell was having a special $300 off promotion on the 24" LCD when you bought an M90 (dunno if it is still going on), and they also sent me a coupon for my entire order, which brought the 24" LCD down to about $500 (I think it was $520 to be exact), when ordered with the M90.

It gets a bit warm -- like any device which creates great order, but is still much cooler than the Inspiron 8500 I have. I have used it on my lap without a problem. I'm impressed by how quiet it runs.
It gets warm, but not hot. Although the 3945 card seems to be the hottest.
I will second the sentiment that this thing is quiet. It shocks me how quiet it is.
