Acer Aspire 5672, Processor Upgrade - Page 2

I have already emailed the guys over at CPU-Z, but i want to share this with you guys. From what i can tell, i found the PLL:

and a close datasheet:
http://www.icst.com/pdf/ics954321.pdf
(it fits the ICS9543xx family idea...). So, i guess i gotta wait to hear back from the clock gen guys, and I will keep you all in the loop.

Wow, where did you find it at?!?!?! I looked hard, or so i thought.....lol

I e-mailed/pm'ed and directly posted to the maker of Clockgen (CPU-Z/CPUID) and got nothing last time. Best of luck to you! Keep us updated.

It was right under the keyboard actually - if you flop the keyboard over, it will stay hidden; you have to pull it forward to see it.

And as for the clockgen guys. i can be persistant when i want to be..

Nice score. ...
Thank you for posting ;-)..
Well ..
I hope I don´t get any problems with my 5672... i´m kinda sleepless over the good and bad reviews out there... Since i live in Brazil and i´ll only be in the US for 5 days..it´s not that easy (or cheap) for me to ger the computer to the USA for maintenance...
Well ... thank you guys .. and i´ll keep you posted about my luck...
I plan to get the 667mHz memory on Newegg, if my comp. has the slower ones....
hope this memory thing get´s sorted out too .. ;-)
See u
Rodrigo

No Prob. It's a good laptop performance wise, but like anything it has its drawbacks. Acer support and heat are the things that really bother me. Otherwise i'm pretty happy.

If anyone needs a T2500 PM me for good price

Sorry i'm just a little impatient

I'm pretty content with this T2600 right now. Got it bassically for free by trading my T2500. It's faster, but not like going from the 1.66 to the 2.0 was. Definetly worth the upgrade from the T2300 though, that thing was just to slow for my computing style.

Hi Sucka.

I'm new...and i want to buy this laptop and change the CPU by a T2500 or T2600 ES.

It's very stable ? have you seen a big difference ? and in the game play with a CPU more speed, the X1400 can give us more Frames ?

tahnk you for your help.

Tottaly stable. I actually run it with less voltage. The Yonah's stock voltage is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.2v but these Laptops run them at 1.4v which just adds to the already bad heat problem. Mine is 100% stable at 1.244v

Of course it's faster More Mhz power will always make applications and games run faster. If you're buying this for games, think again. While it can handle some mild gaming, this is not a DTR by any stretch. Might want to look into the x1600 version they just released.

ok thank you for your but i'm in france. i don't think that the x1600 come here (it's for canada i read???)

but what about the 5652 ? you choose 5652 (7600 GO) or 5672 ?

have you sell your T2500 ?
If the x1600 model desnt come to europe, get the 5652 if you are playing games the Go7600 is much faster than the x1400, we're talking x1400 runs fear playable @ 800x600 medium settings no HDR
Go 7600 (reportedly) run at 1024x768 on high settings with HDR.
