dv5040us keyboard problem

Hey all

I just recently purchased a dv5040us hp notebook. Just went through transfering all my data over, (long process).

Anyways, i plugged in my wireless keyboard and mouse (logitech) via usb and now the keys "o, u, i, o, p, j, k, l, ;, m, ., and /" when pressed display "/, 4, 5, 6, *, 1, 2, 3, -, 0, ., and +" respectivly. Even after...

unplugging the wireless keyboard/mouse
uninstalling "quick launch keys" via device manager
restarting the computer
resetting the bios to default
running windows xp repair

Anywhere in windows it displays those keys wrong including in the cmd, however in DOS they are correct.

I talked to a hp tech and they pretty much just said exchange it at the vendor or do the mail in warrenty thing.

I have no problem doing that, but pretty much means i wasted 5 hours transfering all my data and if i get a replacement, whats to stop it from doing that again?

Any ideas on how to fix it?
Anyone else use a wireless keyboard and mouse successfully??

Thanks in advance
Ben

You probably thought of this already...Is the num lock on? On my laptop keyboard, if the fn-num lock is selected, the right sided keys are numbers.
