9300 Wobbly Screen?

I got a 9300 back at the end of last year and been fairly satisfied with it considering i got it for 50+% off...anyway

After some time of use, I've noticed that the screen has gotten a little wobbly. Its not as tight as before and if i lightly push it, it wobbles back and forth (more so than before). I've accepted the fact that all laptops are like this when they get older....like the old inspiron 2200 i saw before which was almost like a reed in the wind lol.

I was wondering if anyone know if it is possible to tighten the screws on the LCD, or is that not possible at all? Any success stories? or is it just learn to live with it. Its not THAT bad...so I don't want to get my hands dirty and risk the possibility of messing up the system if its really difficult.

Thanks!

My 9300 had slight amount of looseness, and play, i fixed it by tightening hinge screws on the laptop that are right above keyboard, and screws on the lcd.

My 9300 was 8 months old and only wobbled a little more than when it was brand new, it never loosened much. And I was always adjusting it too, depending on where or how I was sitting.

I've never had it apart but from seeing other laptop hinges its a tossup. Some have a nut that you can tighten down, others don't.

Mine got slightly looser. I mean I went over to a dell kiosk to check out the m170, and I thought it would be as loose as my then-new 9300, but as I was opening it I lifted the base very quickly. It looked newbish

That's funny you mentioned that, cuz my panel is just like that, I didn't think anyone else had the same issue. I only noticed it after putting in my 7800 though, so I think I need to go back and tighten the screws or something.

how do you access the screws? it seems pretty solid. Do u have to take out the rubber knobs and the screws under those first?

I've had the problem for over 4 mths now. I never really get bothered enough to check on the problem or ask somebody who knows how to fix it. Hopefully somebody will come up with some type of solution for this problem...

Well, the piece surrounding the power button is pried up to reveal the bottom parts of the hinges. I found mine to be tight when I was fixing my keyboard.
I just haven't gotten to remove the LCD bezel to check those hinge screws.
I'm hoping they'll be loose, otherwise it's the hinges themselves that are doing it.
