I would like to update to 3312, but I've never messed with a bios before, is there anything I need to know (a step by step guide would be great)?

It is very simple. The download includes an application WinPhlash. Extract all the files to the desktop, run WinPhlash and poit it to the new BIOS, select backup and flash.

The application will backup your old BIOS and flash the new one. Moment later it will restart and you are set.

Hmm, when I try to open the zipped file from the Acer FTP site I get the error message that "the zipped file is either invalid or corrupt"
??

After flashing the 3312 bios, my screen brightness is unchanged. I wasn't unhappy with the brightness before, but was hoping I'd also have to use sunglasses!

At least I'm not seeing any problems with it!

Downloaded again, saved to desktop went to open file and got the same message.
Tried to "run" at the download screen (instead of "save") still the same.
Am I doing something basic wrong?
Incidentally I am trying to do this via the link from the Acer UK site to ftp - although I can't think that should be a problem.
