Which of these rigs should I get

I am in a really tough choice here. I was just about to purchase a complete rig from monarch with these specs:

opty 165 + zalman 9500
2gb p4000 ram (ocz pc4000 gamer xtc)
dfi ultra d
74 gig raptor
7900gt
ocz powerstream 520w
antec p160w

and I was going to sell my inspiron 9300 with these specs

1.86ghz pentium m
6800go
60gb 7200 rpm
1.25gb ram
WUXGA screen
ect

but today I was offered to trade my lappy for this used q- pack

Dual Core Opty 170 Clocks to 2.5 at Defual Voltage(HSF is New 4 Heat with thermaltake auto adjusting fan)
DFI RS482 Mirco ATX Main
2x 1Gig Sticks of G.Skill HZ RAM
Eneramax 500 Watt Lirberty Power Supply
Lite-on DVD Rom
Lite-ON DVD-RW
Maxtor 100gig HardDrive
X1900XT with zalman VF-900
X-FI Sound Card
Q-pack Case
+ $200 cash.

The rig at monarch would be around $1550 with a 2 year warranty. My lappy should sell around $1000. Should I just trade my lappy for the qpack?

Also, i was going to upgrade the cpu to quad core when it comes out, will i be able to do this with that mobo?

Thanks,
jcll2002

also, will the qpack hinder my future upgradability?

I am... its alittle fuzzy on that part. He may be willing to accept the lappy with a smaller amt of cash or none.

can you explain your thought process?

opteron 170 is better than 165
qpack is small in size
his comp is pretty loaded

idk, u could build it for less if u r willin to wait for stuff to be on sale and stuff though. so watever u do is really up to u

all the options are fine

not sure you're going to get 1k for that laptop. Depending on how much you have to put in on the trade, i would take that second rig and chage a few things on it. With a real moobo you should be ably to push the opty 170 pretty high.

i'd say qpack

thats exactly what I was thinking. I would just get an ultra d or something in an antec p160w case. Thats around $225. Will that mobo on that qpack go 300+ htt?

EDIT: it has a 10x multi... also ill change out the mobo when quad core comes out so no real point of doing that. Are there any drawbacks of having a qpack? Id probably add in a raptor.

the drawback is cooling. If you plan on doing anything better for an OC, i really wouldn't do it in that case.

I'd take the q-pack. You'll be ahead in cash if you take the trade and then upgrade the parts you want then to sell your notebook for no more than $1000 and have to put down another $500 or so to build the system you want.
