Lightness around edges?

Love my 5150 but it seems around the bottom edge, and even a bit on the right side the LCD seems to lighten up a bit as it gets closer to the plastic edge. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it actually a problem? 1st laptop so I am not sure what really to expect

My two-day old 8600 has a noticeable white light illumination along the bottom of the screen. I'm gonna have a Dell tech out to look at it.

thats not normal but msot people are not bothered by it still you should have it checked out by a tech if it bothers you remotely in anyway
