Cleaning the Screen

Thread Starter
I recently purchased a Dell XPS M170 and the screen has gotten dirty already. What should I use to clean it that won't mess up the screen?

I use Monster ScreenClean. It works very well. It is not cheap though. It will last a long time. It just takes on squirt on the microfiber cloth to do the job. A mircofiber cloth and some water will also do it. Some people use a little water on a soft t-shirt.

I use iKlear. http://klearscreen.com/dell/index.php

If it's good enough for the Mac freaks, it's good enough for me.

I got some lint free wipes at office depot or similar. I checked to see that they are good on LCD monitors/computer equipment.

No problems and pretty cheap.

i use eye glass cleaner from sears. It contains ISOPROPANOL, everyone recommends that is what to use when cleaning lcd's. So if you want get some isopropanol and mix it with 2 parts of water and a clean cloth and you will be fine. I use it to clean all my laptops, 2 years and no problems.

First coat - Alcohol mixed with water.
Second coat - Water only.

Use a microfibre cloth you use for glasses.
Wear gloves too.

This is what I use and seems to work better than anything else I have tried.

Does the feather duster get the sticky stuff?
Dampened chamois (water only)
Microfibre cloth (for polishing)

i bought a staples brand of antistatic cleaning wipes. They work great on D810's screen, no streaks nor smudges. I think you can get 60 cleaning wipes for $6.99, not sure, don't quote me on that.
