I ran 3DMark05 last night on a clean install of MCE 2005 and it came back with 1760. (667 MHz 1GB dual channel)

3DMark06 just ran with a score of 796.

I don't personally know what those 'benchmarks' numbers tell you.. but I'll have a e1505 w/x1400 some time next week, and will have a few games loaded on it, and I could give my opinions of certain games at certain settings if that would be more helpful.

Games I plan to install: WoW, Quake4, Quake3, CS Source, AOE 3, etc...

heh, i got the score in my signature...how sad

I'm planning on doing some benching soon. It took me several hours last night setting up the E1505 and transferring over all my files from the 6000 so I didn't get a chance.

I will also be benching my system once I get a clean install of XP MCE on and OC it a little bit. I will also be doing an in-depth review on it soon, comparing it to the I6000D and showing the major differences. Overall though I can tell you that the E1505 is a major improvement over the I6000D. There are lots of small changes, but they really add up.

Tell me if you're able to get any overclocking done (on the x1400)! When I try using ATI Tool the screen goes white if I try to increase the clock at all, and ATI Tray Tool won't even load if I have overclocking enabled, since it says it can't get necessary data from the BIOS or something!

I haven't gotten ATI Tools working yet either. I ran 3DMark05 on it stock though and got 1826. I'm hoping that with a clean install of MCE and a little OCing(if we can ever get it to work) I might be able to get 2200 or so. Considering that the x300 went from about 1200 to 1896 I think it should be possible, even with a small OC. We'll see. I'm still DLing 3Dmk06, so I'll run that also before I clean the HD off and reinstall XP, just to get a baseline(I want to see how much the Dell install affects the bench scores).

Try using the Ati Tray Tools from the original website and not from OmegaDrivers or guru3d. I think it is 25 beta 14. I got ATT working, but I could't overclock it, because it just froze. The defaults settings appears to be 432 for the core and 396 for the memory.

3DMk05- 1826
3DMk06- 803
PCMk05- 3333

I'm just about to wipe the drive clean and reinstall Windows XP MCE. Those results are obviously pre-wipe with Omega drivers and no tweaks. I will post results/improvements when I wipe the drive and reinstall everything.

Omega drivers alone seem to give a significant boost I guess... Out of the box mine scored 1765...

I'll have to try it again tonight now that I've wiped it... Before I go for the omega drivers.

3DMark05 = 2000

Using Powerstrip
Yeah I know, looks perfect rounded

New Catalyst 6.4 drivers
I will run it again with the new drivers
Nevermind, Catalyst 6.4 didn't work. Rolled back to omega, and got a 3DMark05 of 2128

No significant difference after a wipe for me... 1760 just now...

Joako, what are the powerstrip settings you're using?

I just overclocked the core to 540 and the memory to 440. I think that is my max.

I have a 9400 and managed to pull a 829 out of 3Dmark06 with omega drivers and some tweaking.
bottom line, The ATI X1400 is junk for gaming...
its ok for basic gaming with low graphics settings, but this card really resticts the true potential of the Core Duo processor.

Joako, that's a great OC on the core! I will start really trying to OC the x1400 once I wipe the drive and reinstall MCE. I might do that this afternoon if I have time.

zolutar- I have to disagree that the x1400 is a junk card. It may seem like that when you compare it to a 7800GTX, but not all of us can afford that setup. I'm very happy with my x1400, even if it can't run the newest games on high settings. It does well for me and once I get a good OC on it I will be more than happy with it. It's definitely a step up from the x300, that's for sure!
