this is too good to be true, really. Has any one tried this. Is there any limitations? Does it run just as good as a PC with the same specs?

Here are some pics, no video though: http://www.flickr.com/photos/speedye...7594099504282/

only devices unsupported thus far are the isight camera and the remote control. otherwise video, bluetooth, wireless, etc are all covered.

I have installed xp pro on mine no problem and am updating xp.
I have macbook pro 2.0, 2 gigs ram, 100gig hd partitioned 85/15.
will run 3d mark 05 and test bf2 after updating everything.

I wonder how long it will be before the iSight is supported? That's the only thing I'd be concerned about at this point... Although, the keyboard backlighting would be nice. ;-)

yeah it would be nice, but I am sure someone will figure it out.
loading bf2 is taking forever...

I predicted this. Makes pure business sense.

Everyone who buys will have to buy a copy of OSX with the machine so they will more than likely start using it some time or the other. For those that wont.. they probably never wanted to move away from Win/*nix. But theyve paid for hardware ..so its a win win for apple.

yeah now I seriously want one to replace my 8103. This means mac users can now play windows games.

For those that just brought a Powerbook, I bet they are kicking them selves now.

Does the Macbook pro have a back lit keyboard?

This might seem silly, but it could make a big difference for us Windows users: is the trackpad one- or two-button? If it's one-button, then how would a Windows user cope, since so many Windows functions pretty much require a right-click?

just played bf2 online with all setings on medium without issue.
Only played 10 minutes or so..dloading 3d mark 05 now.

cdd, do you have Half Life 2? Man, if I could run Hl2 on a macbook at the same or higher framerates as my x800xt I would buy this laptop tonight!

Anyone know if there are any video cards that are better for this laptop? This is awesome!

I don't but, if it wil run bf2 it will run hl2. Someone said they ran bf2 on high and that it was smooth with a couple of tweaks.
x1600 256mb is the best card in the macbook.

Just buy a USB mouse; they're less than $20. I hate using trackpads of any sort (whether on a Dell or otherwise), so I have a Kensington wireless laser mouse.

What were your settings for BF2? Did you run at the 1440x900 resolution?

There are times when a mouse isn't convenient (e.g., right now, with the notebook balanced on my lap). So, the single button would be problematic.

This is a tough decision, I must say...

How does that card compare to the 6800 go? Any clue? I had a notebook with that and it ran HL2 just fine.
