new m5700 few issues/questions

I jsut got my new lappy 2 days agao and so far I am loving it, but I have noticed a few things that bother me.

1. Light leaking on LCD. When gaming in a dark map or when the screen is black I can see light leaking up onto the screen and theres a bar that goes along the bottoms of the screen that is lighter than the rest of the screen.

My sony LCD doesnt do this at all, whats black is black.

What can I do? is this normal for a notebook?

2. Heat- I have been monitoring video card temps while playing WOW and it runs at a constant 91C and sometimes shoots to 100C. Framerates will slow for a sec and then jump back up every min or so after playing for a while. 70C at idle on desktop. Ambient temp is 74C

The laptop is lifted up in the back to get better flow but I plan on ordering a lapcool2.

Any suggestions?

Odd in deed. Most laptop shave some light leakage, but generally it goes away after a little time, kind of like breaking in the screen. All the laptopas I have ever owned the leakage slowly goes away.

As far as gpu temp that is extremely high. I know when i had my 5700 the temps never got about 70 or so if i remeber right. Might wanna call AW on that.

u can log with nvtemplogger also, so it logs while your playing a game.

that seems to be running real hot. my m5700 playing fear or battlefield 2 only gets up to 75 c if that. normal temps are mid 50's to low 60's. and about the sceen i see a little bit of light leakage.

tech support says its ok. Since im not getting artifacting or shutdowns all is ok... I am skeptical but I will see what happens. The default nvidia shutdown temp is 105C and I havent hit that yet.

Ok played WOW last night for 4 hours straight. The notebook was propt up in the back and it ran fine only slowing down a few times which is hardly noticable. Temps were in the 90s on the GPU but as soon as I alt tab out they drop down to 60s/70s so I guess its running OK.

Although it is running OK right now, in the long run it might fail on you. So make sure you get that cooling early. I'm using a Lapcool4, but it's not helping me much (just lowering temp by 1 degree). I'm using a Vantec cooler that blows air from the back, it's much stronger and cools the laptop quite well. Might wanna look into that.
