yikes, i wonder if they'll offer the 7900 with the m90. this is too much bling for me. it feels like it has "steal me" written all over it.

The 2500 Quadro card that is offered in the M90 is the same thing as a 7900 more or less. OC that bad boy and you'll have just about the same performance.

Quadro 2500 , more powerful for OpenGL applications

7900 Gtx, more powerful for Direct X applications (games = +10%)

Yeah I'm not fond of quite so much silver, but prefer the 7900, so I'll probably live with the silver all over. Red looks nice just wish that had been red and black.

One observation though, from the photos it looks like they changed from copper to aluminum heatsinks internally (take a look inside the back vents). That could be prototype stuff but it would be a sad step imo, if it were true. That might limit your future upgrades if it had a lower heat maximum than the M170.

Just not enough black imo, oh well... but guess I'll live. M1710 has more of what I want. Have to get an order in around all you crazy folks who will be filling up Dell's bandwidth on me! Shoulda offered a blue one... lol

So if its only red or black which are people going to take?

Still nothing. 9:30 GMT and checked both US and UK sites...still waiting.

What if you flashed the Quaddro 2500 with a Go 7900GTX bios? Wouldn't that help?

I am just interested....does anyone actually have any benchmarks to show that the Quadro is as much as 10% faster than the Geforce? I know that lots of people say this...but I have never actually seen any benchmarks from two cards (running at the same clock speed) to prove it. I used to use a Quadro 4 and it was absolutely identical in DirectX peformance to its Geforce equivalent when running at the same clock speed.

What's the price range on the 1710?
2400-2600 Euros

Looks like the M90 still comes out cheaper...

This means that my Inspiron 9400 gets a 7900 Go soon, yay! (Atleast I hope so...)

Anyone who does get an order in, what kind of sound does it come with?

This is just speculation on my part, but Dell will probably leave the Geforce Go 7800 in the e1705's for the short term (as soon as they can supply it to include it in the configurator's for new systems), due to the fact they are probably now just getting in orders for the part from Nvidia and will want to their supply of this part sell out before introducing the Geforce Go 7900gs, and maybe as soon as they have built up some stock of Geforce Go 7900gs (that's even if they will have this part at all) they will introduce it down the road before dropping the Geforce Go 7800 entirely. Again, all speculation on my part and just my two cents.
