What voltage does the 7800 Go GTX run at?
Never mind, it's 1.3 volts - found it in this thread:

Two people said "PBC". We were just trying to be clear. Don't take it so personally. And, as I said, I was typing my post when Cirthrix made his, so no one was "crying" about anything, except maybe you.

i mod my 7800go with 1.3 volt but ram always 940 max artifact
post #27 of 96
Yeah, mine will go to 950 but with artifacting after it has been running a while, even on 1.3v.
Okay, I've done a little tweaking and I have mixed results... I'm now at 455/1050 with the GTX BIOS at 1.3v, but my 3DMark06 score has improved little. I'm at 3334 where I was at 3299 before. I wonder why so little difference?

artifact = low score

440 950 = 3600
All right, more tweaking, better results... 465/1050 plus removing all background tasks yields 3608!

Actually, I wasn't artifacting at either score. I think I must have had something running in the background or problems with the fans (I hope they update I9KFanGUI pretty soon!).

pls sequence flash bios?

I think 7800 GDDR3 modules just didn't pass all the quality tests, just less performing ram...
There's no way to pump them over 1 Ghz without obtaining artifacts.
GTX bios won't change the situation, neither overvolting to 1.3 V.
I mean that there's hardware really perfect and some else less perfect.
Why couldn't it be that nvidia has mounted less performing GDDR3 modules on 7800Go?
Not all the chips get the same performance, it's the same for system ram, cpus and so on...
Considering that 7800Go is the cheapest G70, I would consider even cheapest and less performing components...

Didn't I say that already?

Wrong. I'm at 465/1050 with no artifacting using the GTX BIOS, but I couldn't do it with the 1.3v Go BIOS. Maybe it's something with the memory timings? I'll post a RivaTuner pic...

Oh, and I figured out why my score was so bad the first run. My laptop power supply had come loose so I was on battery and not AC. I was running at "Max Battery" instead of "Max Performance" as a result. Thanks Andre for bringing that to my attention.

Cpt. Jack! Whats your current 3dmark06 score with that OC? How did you do it? Did you just flash the 7800 Go BIOS with the 7800GTX Go Bios? Nothing more? Did you have to voltmod the flashed GTX BIOS to make it go to 1.3v?
Jeez, now I just need a bright light and a detective standing above me... "Where were you on January 24!?"

Current 3DMark06: 3608, with my puny T2300. After some testing, I flashed a 7800GTX BIOS with 465/525 clocks onto my 7800Go. The 7800GTX runs at 1.3v by default.
