Hey guys In just ran 3dmark 03 and I scored a 2549 which I heard is very low. Im running a 2.8ghz with 2x256 pc-3200 ram with the 40gb hd with the ati 9600. Anyone have any suggestions? im new to computers and I wonder what my benchmarks should be help would be greatly apreciated thx guys

That score is right on for the specs you've got. You'll see more gains with 1gb of ram and an overclocking utility like Powerstrip.

ps
Keep in mind that 3dMark is in NO WAY how your laptop will perform in real life games. Play any new game thats out today and tell me your laptop isn't a screamer...i dare ya

thx craig its just the only test i felt ran smooth was the plane test which was just pure awesomness. I gotta admit that my laptop screams through call of duty and counterstrike but it hiccups on halo. neways thx craig (again) its just i hear of people who get like 9300 or something like that. Also does anyone know how much an upgrade to 1024 ram is gonna cost me?

Those scores you've heard of are people using desktops not laptops. Your scores are great for a laptop. Enjoy the gaming!

I got 2950 with no overclocking on my Sager 5680 with the same proc and video card, but with 1024 megs of RAM..

Hello everybody... well my 3dmark score is 2350 with 3.2ghz/1024ram/nvidia/60gb. A bit choppy in MOHAA which is disappointing, haven't tried any other games yet. is my laptop sick??? Any advice anybody??

This is my first post by the way - great forum!!!

Welcome Prestoopnik!

Have you tried overclocking the video card and ram with Powerstrip or another utility? This should eek out a few more points on your benchmarks.

I do not have the Nvidia card but if I'm not mistake our members that do have it are getting somewhere in the neighborhood of 2500 in 3Dmark03.

Timepilot, what are you getting? Can you shed some light here with your Nvidia experiences?

Hi Craig, thanks for the reply.

No, I haven't tried anything like that yet. As soon as I have a spare couple of hours I'm going to sit down and go through some of the tweaks recommended on this forum. Slightly concerned as it seems to be about the lowest score I've seen for a system of that spec. & MOH gets a bit choppy when the action hots up - I've seen posts from yourself & others saying it should fly through MOH no problem. Maybe the nvidia needs a little revving up to compete with the ati.

It's been back to Alienware once already for an in-game crashing problem which they resolved by swapping just about everything - gpu, motherboard, hard drive...

your scores seem off consider recent drivers!

3dmark03 is a horrible program to begin with, i have always hated it. I use everything but that to benchmark computers
