I just got a new laptop, what do you think?

1.86GHZ Intel DUO Processor
ATI X1400 256 mb HyperMemory
15.4" WXGA screen with trulife
1GB RAM
60gb 7200 rpm SATA drive

it's a DellE1505 or something like that, they had a promotion so I got $603 off the asking price.

Total Damage: $1,150

You think I got a good deal?

I was a bit skeptical about getting this puppy because I really wanted the lenovo (I really, really like the keyboard). However, it seems like I'd get a much less powerful cpu for the same price w/ the lenovo.

Congrats on the new machine. Somehow, I'd have expected more excitement over a new laptop, or at least that you'd be certain about what you ordered.

LOL You're absolutely right. Thing is, I'm the kinda guy who sits in a supermarket for 20 minutes trying to decide whether he should get the cambells soup with noodles or the whatever-else soup with noodles.

Hence, I absolutely HATE buying stuff w/o giving myself time to think things over. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance here, I only ordered this system because of the $603 price decrease which is very, very significant. I am just hoping I made the right decision, because, as I previously said, I really like the Lenovo's but they are veyr pricey.

Thx

PS using it for gaming & regular stuffs

I'm no expert on Dell notebooks (1505 or otherwise ), but if price is a major concern, it appears to me that you've done very well.

Thx Rob, price is indeed a concern. if it wasn't, i'd go with the lenovo. it just seems hard to justify a lenovo (same price) that has less performance.

As I said in other post I think it is great deal. You will not find those components in another notebook for that price. The Acer 5672 is also a good machine for that price point but the 1.86HZ CPU and 7200 rpm drive give the e1505 the edge.

I almost pulled the trigger myself on this machine even though my budget is bigger and I have my eyes on a different machine. My buddy who has been looking for a decent machine with dedicated graphics under $1,000 also picked this up.

You will be very happy with it.

congrats, not bad for the price

You made the right choice not choosing a Lenovo.

The last thing the rest of the world needs right now is is for CHina to have more money to spend on their military, and to help suppress their own population.

I wonder how many of the parts in the Dell are made in China...

Nice system!

Nice buy, I got almost the same thing. If you want to see the details, just check the sig. I'm pretty happy with my purchase, and I'm loving the E1505 so far. It's much better than my old I6000D. I think you got a great deal. I ended up getting $799 of the price of mine with the EPP coupons.

Woot that's good to hear Camride because I ordered almost the same specs as you and it's due to ship sometime this week

I'll jump on that band wagon also, just got my fedex tracking number for the e1505 in my sig.

This was just too good a deal to pass up. I like my i9200, but i'm getting a little tired of hauling it around, so the e1505 will be nice.
