Need 3 Questions Answered for Revolution and Graphics

Hi there!

1st Question

I am using Duel nVidia 7800 gtx SLI ready and gotta say WOW!

But is there an update for these graphics cards? or is it unnessary (Brought 5th April)

Current version: UNKNOWN

2nd Question

I am using DELL 20'' Wide-aspect Monitor 2005, What would be the best revolution to use for nice clear screen and graphics to still run well?

The current revolution I am using is 1024 x 768

3rd Question

This may sound dumb but I need to check, as you can see I am using Duel nVidia 7800gtx and a wide-aspect monitor 20''

I have used 1 plug from the monitor to connect the right side slot for the PC (there are 2 slots on the PC and monitor)

Do I use 1 Slot and it already enables SLI? or do I have to use BOTH slots in the PC and BOTH slots in the monitor? (So thats be two leads going to-and-from the PC and monitor)

Many Thanks

Im not sure about all this so...

1. Unless you need bleeding edge graphics those 7800GTX's should last you a while

2. Id bump it up to max resolution and give it a go, cause if your runnin @ 1024x768 more than half your GPU power is going to waste. 1920x1200 is great, and I can run most games on my single 7800GTX (go version) so you should be fine.

3. If im not mistaken you have to enable it in the Nvidia panel, and rebbot in order to switch from 2 to 1 cards (altho maybe this has changed)

im sure you can set up a greren bar to show you what part of the screen is being handled by what card.

about the slots... I really dont know sorry.

If you're talking about BIOS, check nvidia.com. If you mean a newer card, the 7900GTX has been released. However if you wanna upgrade your current SLI setup its about 1,000 for maybe a 5-10% performance boost. And, at a 7800GTX SLI level, its really just 75 to 80 FPS, which is relatively pointless.

Monitors have a 'native' resolution which is supposed to look best... but i like cranking it up. Especially with SLI, theres no problem with going to 1680 or 1900. The bigger the resolution the more stuff you see/the clearer it is.

I havn't used SLI myself but Im 99% sure both cards in SLI are supposed to power ONE Dvi slot. So from SLI only one slot to your monitor.

Enabling SLI is a few steps, in the bios and windows. Consult your manual for more exact directions for that.

kk thanx very much

I dont really want to tamper around in the BIOS, I check the nVidia thing installed on my PC, and check my manual but if needs be I do BIOS last =))

Yeah I think them 2 slots for my PC n monitor is for different setting plug connections like DVI or VGI? SOmething!? blah lol I really want to have my SLI enabled and have a better revolution but the MAX setting its goes to is 1680 x 1050

yes, you use one cable to connect.

and you cant run at higher than 1680 x 1050 becuase your moniter cannot go higher.
