speedstep question

lately my m170 has been operating on full cpu speed.... not even changing the power settings would bring it down... i have speedstep enabled but it just won't go.. what gives?

on ac..it's on full cpu speed.. changed power settings still no dice...ran on battery, went down then it went up to full cpu again.. any advice?

You say it went down then it went back up?? Do you have something running?? If the CPU is being used, it's gonna speed up

nope.. i just did a fresh install and the cpu just won't go down... should i be concerned?

I just did a fresh install and the same is happening to my i9300.

Before, if I set to Maximum Performance (Quickset) Speedstep would be enabled.
