I dont really have a problem with the card getting too hot (idles around 50-69 depending on room temp) but it heats up my hard drive ALOT. My hard drive is usually at 50-65. Anyone know if this is a safe hdd tempature?
alOt of systems give a warning when the hdd reaches a certain degree... i have a remote surveillance system that gave me an error at 53c....basically the lifespan of the hdd diminishes drammatically with prolonged exposure. the 9880 i dont use anymore (built killer dt), killed 2 hdd's within 2-3 weeks ownership. these clevo units shutdown and dont reboot under high degrees. So yes, i would consider a laptop cooler if i were you......I had the lapcool 2 hooked up to the 9880. didnt help the hdds or every other heat issue....but anything helps these units i guess.
