iBook problems

Hi
My iBook has just started playing up and I was wondering whether anyone else has had a similar problem. Just after booting up the screen is filled with columns of parallel lines, and then the screen goes to one colur which keeps changing in sweeps from top to bottom.
I've heard there is a problem with the logic boards, does this sound like it's one of them....or a virus?.
Any help would be appreciated. The iBooks about 18 months old.
Cheers

Check this out - Apple has a repair program for the ibooks with these problems...scroll down the page - looks like it is a faulty board.

Hope that helps

goto Apple dealer and get it in on the replacement program Apple is offering. Your display is part of recall program they have, it will be over soon but free replacement of display if it fals under the program. check out Apples web site for info WWW.apple.com

i had the exact same problem with my pc, i got a virus and it infected the display driver, replaced the graphics card with a worse one i had lying around the house, then i got rid of the virus and installed the old graphics card again... might be a bit harder to do what i did on a a laptop, and a mac! (i dont think mac has any kind of bios like win?). although it could just be a hardware problem...

I'm on motherboard number four for my ibook. There is a design flaw which Apple didn't catch until basically until they were about to be replaced by the G4.
