Wifi card for Satellite 1955 S805

I've got an intel pro wireless 2200 bg card that I installed in this lappy. I downloaded the generic drivers from intel, and it won't recognize the card. Does anyone know of a driver that will work?

Toshiba is pretty pick on wireless cards, even if you get the drivers going, it is possible that the wifi switch will not do anything, meaning you will be stuck in the off mode. I recommend getting an original card that came with 1955s.

Toshiba 1955-S805 mini pci wireless

Can you describe the installation process? Is the slot under the keyboard? My laptop does not have a wireless keyboard or latches to remove it....from what I've researched, some models do.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mini Wireless PCI Toshiba Satellite 1955-S805

Hi, I just figured it out and its working fine. Thanks.

For anyone else thats going nuts if they own this laptop: On either side toward the back, there are 2 little plugs...no screws or anything. When I went to pry one off, it turned out to be "tape"...remove the tapes, pull the plastic levers and the darn keyboard practically pops out!

Why does Toshiba make everything so secretive??? Installing it was as easy as installing memory!

Coudl you please tell me where is the card slot under the keyboard ?
There is a metal plate under the keyboard. Which part do you need to open ?
