DVD overlay "sparkle" artifacting?

Thread Starter
This one’s got me stumped on my M6807.

I always keep my DVD software player with hardware acceleration turned on. Last week I noticed that now I have colored sparkle artifacts spread through out the screen during playback.

This occurs only on DVD overlay from ANY source but on no other screens such as games or such. I can only kill the sparkles by dropping back to turning hardware acceleration off. I have reinstalled video drivers and Direct 3D just in case.

So, possible software corruption or ATI 9600 problems?

Anyone? TIA!

Mike

Have you tried another DVD player, like VLC? Could be a MPEG decoder problem.

Um, turn if off for better video quality. The software does a much better job of doing the decoding. Sounds like you need some new video drivers. ATI's website for the Catalyst 6.3 https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...e&folderID=293 On the next page choose Notebooks with ATI Graphics.

Hi
I just upgraded to the newest ATI video driver and now get a DirectX error message when I try to load Call of Duty. Any ideas?

Sorry, should let you know I have an M6805. No problem running Call of Duty until I upgraded the ATI driver today.
Tried upgrading DirectX and still no good. Uninstall/Reinstall my game?
