I was originally going to go with the Aurora 7500 but stumbled on this nice setup. And amazingly enough, its 120 dollars cheaper for the exact same components and the nice case artwork. I already own a 5620D and a 766 laptop and am quite excited about finally getting one of their desktops. My current p4 3.2 with a gig of ram and a 5950 ultra card only scored a 456 on 3dmark 06 (tells you how long it has been since I last upgraded). I certaily expect to see a bit higher numbers with this new machine. I will keep you all posted as to its progress (looking like the second week of may).

nice and did you get 2 7900 gtxs or just one
post #3 of 24
Looks like 2 boom, that thing should be fast. Congrats Sylvadon.
oh, yeah..with 2 7900 GTX 512s you're going to get orders of magnitude
better 3dmark06 at stock speeds like 5682 reported for a single card
in an athlon 4000+ system

plus being able to overclock them from 650 mhz/1600 mhz to 705 mhz/1800 mhz if your cooling and power can handle it...

the current 3dmark06 record holder got 13,000+ out of a system with your cards (fx60 tho)!

Phase 3 now

After finalizing their credit (hey why not use their money for 6 months?) my system has now arrived at phase 3. I think though due to the fact that not only my video cards (7900 gtx) but now also the memory is on backorder, i am sure I will not see this system for another couple of weeks or more. So far though, I have to say that my entire experience with Alienware has been quite enjoyable. Everyone I have talked to has been very courteous, knowledgable, and quick to do whatever it takes to answer my questions. So even though this will take a bit to complete, im certain that I will be quite pleased with my new machine. I know when it does arrive, I will reseat all the cards, check all the connections and be certain that nothing was jarred loose by the shipping. Then I shall post pictures and benchmarks.

i was about to say wtf 3dmark05 is way beyond that and then i was like oh its 06. i hate futuremark's new benchies because they always come outwhen i just get acquainted with the standard scores for certain specs.
13000+ in 3dmark is insane.
