3790 and ATI Catalyst Mobility Drivers

Hello,

Has anyone been able to successfully install any version of the Catalyst Mobility drivers available directly from the ATI site? I tried to install the latest version (6.3) however shortly after the machine boots and I log on the screen becomes black with garbled graphics in different areas. I was able to fix this by booting into safe mode and installing the latest Sager driver however I'd really like to use a more recent version.

this happened to me too, only difference is i tried to install mobile catalyst 6.4...dunno what the problem is

I'm using the Catalyst 5 series (modded). The Catalyst 6 drivers don't work at all, whether it's the regular drivers but modded or the mobility versions.

a fix

Guys,

A problem lies in with the native resolution of 1680X1050 and the new catalyst drivers. Read this thread for a fix. Read Dase's post on the 5th page. Works like a charm.
