E1505 screens = big problem? - Page 2

Wow, I'm glad to have read this thread: I have a similar, and rather accelerated problem with a Sager 9750 screen using WUXGA resolution.

The screen viewing angles are piss poor
There are dark corners at the bottom
There is some SERIOUS light leakage
I have noticed that the bottom quarter of the screen is much darker than the top three quarters.

Heres my origeonal post with photos for your amusement, to see just how poor this is.

Guess what, its a samsung, that what I am told the Sager 9750 WUXGA screens are.

I don't know what make the lower res ones are but I am seriously thinking of swapping it out if I get another dud screen once they have it replaced. I saw a photo of the two side by side and the lower res one didn't apear to have light leakage on such a severe level or inconsistancy of brightness. This was from a photo mind...

Well I just fired up my 1505 and I have no issues with dark corners at all. Can't figure out how to tell what screen it is without tearing it apart.

You can use powerstrip to find out what screen you have.

Binny, You got me curious about Powerstrip (I'd like to have a utility like that) but searching for info turned up lots of warnings about adware. Is this another program?

I've tried powerstrip, everest and belarc advisor none of which can tell me what the monitor is.

Tabs, I do not see any dark corners on my E1505 Samsung Display with truelife. On the other hand, my 6000D had dark corners. Larth could be have a theory.

My Inspiron 1100 Had dark spots in the lower corners, not very noticeable

Just bought an E1505, with True Life, awaiting delivery..

I am not too concerned. However, I believe the statement "Larth" made too.
