Confused about shipping...

Hi all,
Wonder if anyone can shed any light in on this....

Recently bought a dell (on monday) and it says on the dell website that they shipped it wednesday (2 day business) via UPS, due to arrive friday.

I get the waybill / tracking number for UPS (from the dell website) and this is what I get...
"Status: Billing information received
Note: UPS has received shipper's billing information electronically. Billing information received does not indicate shipment pickup or drop-off. Please contact the shipper for more details."
(Theres more details like where it is to be shipped to but thats all ok)

Does this mean that ups has not picked up the package? I would have thought since it is two day shipping, and it is the end of the first day it would at least have been updated with some transit information!!!!

It does say on the dell website that it has shipped, but its this lack of transit information, only "Billing information received" that concerns me!

Is this normal?!?

sounds iffy does the website indicate "In Transit" or " En Route" or "Delivered" ? if its the last one then you should be worried and call this in with customer care

Thanks for replying so fast! The actual dell website says :
Status: On Schedule, 1/28/2004 8:36:00 PM
Carrier: UNITED PARCEL SERVICE
Delivery Estimate: January 30
Stage: In Transit

So at least according to dell it is in transit. Its just that there is no information on the UPS website when I enter the tracking number, only "billing information received". Seems like UPS is neither confirming nor denying that the package has been shipped, or for that matter, even picked up.

well th epolicy with dell is once DHL (airborne express) delivers the system to the "local carrier" IE UPS in this case then its UPS liability if the system is lost

Hi,
This makes sense, I checked back at the ups site and its all fine now. Just took a while to get to the "regional distribution centre"!

As of this moment its "out for delivery". Cant Wait!
