Automotive lap top tooll

Hi.I am looking for advice on purchising my first lap top.What it will be used for is automotive programs.By that I mean it will be an osscilloscope,scanner,and information device.It will have to tough enough to live in a shop envoirment,have at least a 100gb hard drive and 1gbsdram.
Hopefully(god forbid it could survive a three foot drop onto concrete}.
Is there any other autumotive techs out there that could recomend different brands based on their experiance.tia

IF you're willing to fork over more cash, you could check Hummer Laptops. They're pretty rugged, decent looking and go well with the whole automotive theme. They're not cheap though.

Ford has spec'd the toughbook cf 18 for the new IDS diagnostic platform.
