Toshiba Satellite 1805-s253: Cannot put back CPU back in!!!

I was trying to test a P3 cpu. I took it out fine but it was hard to take out and I broke one of the handles of the slide mechanism. After some force, I managed to slide it out and took out the CPU but now I can't put either CPU back in. It does go in but I can't slide it fully after putting in the CPU. Without the CPU, it slides back and forth fine but with it, it doesn't budge.

Any suggestions?

you have to use a flat head that fits that opening just right, then you pry it to open/close

That broke though....I have to force it with a flat head to the left and its size refused to slide and clip with the cpu in it...ugghh.

first of all, did you slide the cpu lock latch?
