Sony FS750 Boot Trouble

Hello All,

I’m having trouble booting up my Sony FS750.

It will boot to the Vaio screen, but it will not go any further.
The only way it will boot up further is if after I get to the Vaio screen I put it in standby mode and then hit any key and it will start.

I appreciate any and all feedback,

Lex

Do you have an external HD connected or bootable media?

I do have an external hard drive and I backed-up the computers info to it yesterday, the day that this boot problem started.

Shepoch,

I do not have anything connected to the computer when I start it up.

If the external HD is connected/on when you turn on the laptop it might stall the boot up process while it detects mass storage devices. I suggest you unplug it and see.

If you don't have it connected, enter the BIOS and check your settings for boot order. Alternatively, disable quick boot or whatever options prevents you from getting a verbose mode POST. If you manage to do it, take note of what part of boot up the laptop stops at.
