I want to see if it will work and if it is detected in the I6000..............................................
Only I6000D users can try it. because only I6000D have PCI-E slot for ATI videocard like E1505 - X1400.......
I think it could be work without problem
Nobody was try yet???....................
We need now is rich and brave man who have I6000D and E1505...........

i will try it if i buy a new 1505, but by then, its already gonna be done probably.

itll work i say, but the bios will have to support it. thats the only potential problem. and in that case, i dont see it working

Are there even pictures of each side by side?

I have a pic of the x1400. Don't know if you want to see it to compare it with the x300.

Sure, please post!

I will try it this weekend. I haven't sold my I6000D yet, so I still have both. I'll try to either do it tomorrow at work(if I have the time) or over the weekend. I know this is important to you guys, so I will make it happen. I think it will work, but I'm not sure. If it does though, it would be a great improvement, because so far I'm really liking the x1400 over the x300. I already got the best score OC'd from my x300 as the stock score on my x1400, so that should tell you how much better it is. I will take pics when I do it.

What was your highest X300 OC and what is the stock X1400 clock?

Thanks so much for trying this!
Highest x300 OC was 425 core and 310 memory. Stock x1400 speeds are 432 core and 400 memory. So even with the core being close to the same with the x300 OC'd the memory is much quicker. Stock to stock they're not even close, the x1400 is much faster. Unfortunately they didn't give the x1400 any more pipes, otherwise the performance difference would have been much greater.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, it sucks that it has no more pipes. The X1600 would have been sweet. My X300 barely overclocks, so it'd be cool if the X1400 fits.

excellent... i can't wait to hear if it works or not.

I have time tonight, about to take them apart and try it out. See you guys on the other side!

Ok guys, here's the scoop. It fits, it's the exact same shape and size of the x300. All the connectors line up, the x1400 and the x300 are for all intensive purposes identical. That's the good news. The bad news is the BIOS of the I6000 will not recognize it, which is what I figured since teh x1400 wasn't created until after the I6000 was made, which means they had no knowledge of it when it was made(or knew it'd never go in the I6000). Which means that you will need a BIOS hack to get it to work. If I knew anything about it I'd do it myself, but I don't know the first thing about BIOS code or how to work/modify it. So, at the very least you know there is absolutely no physical modification necessary to get it to work, the cards are on the same piece of PCB, just with different stuff on them(the layout is different). The heatpipe is also the same.

So I hope this helps you guys out. Find someone that knows BIOS hacking and have them whip you up a custom BIOS with the gpu info for the x1400 and all the rest of the data from the I6000.

For anyone wanting to do this mod, good luck! I'm sure with some diligent work you can find someone on the net that will do the BIOS hack for you.
